Sony Ericsson T686i Flip Phone

This is an old-school handset design for two reasons: it uses the T series, that hasn’t been approached in a while and it’s a flip phone, stuff that Sony Ericsson hasn’t been showing much love for recently. Actually, the company hasn’t been producing new designs, sadly.

Sony Ericsson Maino Tablet, Windows 7 Version Revealed

Designer Frank Tobias has shown us quite a bunch of images portraying his Sony Ericsson tablet, known as Maino. This time, he has created a Windows 7 version of the device, pictured below and detailed after the break. Sony Ericsson Maino features a multitouch AMOLED display with a 1360 x 900 pixel resolution.

SE Maino comes with 100GB of storage, a 10 megapixel camera, dual LED flash, 4GB RAM, Windows 7, stereo speakers and the Media Stripe function for control of multimedia playback.

LG Eco Solar Power Cellphone Uses a Photovoltaic Cell

Designer Aaron Martinez created both this great LG concept phone for the Design the Future Competition and the one pictured below. This new device is the LG Eco Solar Power Cellphone, that charges thanks to incandescent and fluorescent lights, plus direct and indirect sunlight, relying on a photovoltaic cell.

As far as the handset is concerned, it comes with Windows Mobile on board (we don’t know what flavour), a brilliant display with advanced touchscreen technology, LED backlight technology, an LED illuminated magnifier, Microsoft Silverlight browser and a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. At the back you’ll find an 8 megapixel camera with support for 1080p video capture. More info and images after the break...



Palm Sparta Concept Runs webOS 2.0, Designed by Terillo Walls

It’s been ages since we’ve seen a Palm concept phone, but we’re always glad to check out novelty. Terillo Walls created the Palm Sparta design, pictured below and supposedly running webOS 2.0. There’s also WiFi b/g/n support on the device and a great camera at the back.

Palm Sparta features a 640 x 960 pixel display (double compared to the Palm Pre), an 8 megapixel camera with Flash and a 1.2GHz Texas Instruments OMAP440 processor. Supposedly, the concept will reach the loving hands of T-Mobile and Vodafone. What do you say? more after the break...



Iron Man 2 Technology Includes LG Transparent Smartphone (Video)

Iron Man 2 has just made its official debut in US theatres this weekend and every tech freak out there must be pleased with the gadgets shown in the movie. Among them there’s a futuristic LG transparent smartphone that gets pictured below, plus a couple of other device that get detailed in the video at the end of the article.

Kudos to the folks who created this great concept and we have to say we really loved the revolutionary interface shown on Tony Stark’s Microsoft Surface-like coffee table. The virtual Lab and the Iron Man suitcase were probably the coolest technologies we’ve seen in a superhero flick in a long time.
Too bad that the movie is not as good as the first one… Here’s a bit of extra UI action and correction added by the graphic designers working on the film, to make the gadgets look real:
